how to take notes like an a+ student!

these are my biochemistry 1 notes! biochem can be super difficult because it takes information learned in physics, general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biology, so I needed a way to simplify the concepts and better understand the material.

here’s how I take notes for biochemistry:

the first section is all of the vocab terms! it helps to do these before going to class because it gives you some background knowledge going into lecture!

the second section is formulas, constants, chemical structures etc. along with any explanations I may need. this would also be a good section to put in any charts or other short info to be memorized.

the final section is any conceptual information in bullet points. I take notes during class in a seperate notebook then rewrite them in my own words. I would also put any chemical processes in this section.

organic chemistry: terms, structure nomenclature, reactions / mechanisms

biology: terms, organizational / hierarchy schematics, conceptual information

physics: terms, formulas, practice problems with explanations
