Why do I like cooking for my partner?

💡He works & provides for our family.

💡I like for him to write me a menu of what he wants for the week and I make it.

💡If he doesn’t have an idea of what he wants some days of the week I’ll pick what I make.

Tips?💡

1️⃣When I don’t feel like cooking I’ll make something simple or small, we have 1 frozen pizza night every week. And 1 leftovers night. This helps me take 2 days off of cooking every week.

2️⃣ALWAYS marinate your carne asada. Keep in mind, carne asada is a different cut of steak than your regular steak. A regular steak is thick, fatty, more complex to cook. Carne asada is a very thin cut steak that requires good marinade but takes very little time to cook. Always have your pan oiled and on high heat right before placing your steak, once your steak is on, reduce the heat just a tad bit but not completely or your steak will not sear❗️

3️⃣ALWAYS pat your steak dry before marinating, seasoning or cooking or else it will not sear, it will just be boiling in its own juice which is not good

4️⃣Authentic carne asada marinade:

Orange juice, lemon juice, lime juice, minced garlic, salt, beef bouillon (a tad bit), black pepper, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, chopped cilantro, chopped onion (optional, not necessary), a pinch 🤏 of cumin as it is very, very strong. Any type of sauce is optional for more taste in this marinade but not necessary, for example common ones is chipotle pepper sauce, pickled jalapeño juice, or tapatio. Let your carne asada marinate in this for 1 hour or for however long you prefer.
