Barbie Pink Heart Shaped Cookies 🍪

Overall Rating: 4/10

These cookies are gorgeous! But the texture was so off. If you know me you know I’m obsessed with pink desserts.

The package says bake on 325 for 9-11 mins, I baked them for 12 mins, let them cool down for 10 mins, and they still were way too soft to the point where they’re easy to break. I put them back in for another few mins. The cookies were crispy after a few mins back in the oven but the inside still had a very grainy texture.

I love soft cookies but NOT grainy. The flavor was 2.5/10. The cookie is edible & the sweetness was great, which bumps it up to 4/10, but worst cookie I’ve had so far :(

... Read moreAs someone who loves trying unique and themed cookies, especially those with fun shapes like hearts, I was excited to try these Barbie Pink Heart Shaped Cookies from Target. The packaging proudly lists that these cookies are dairy allergen-free, gluten-free, GMO-free, and even Pareve, making them appealing to people with specific dietary needs or allergy concerns. The cookie dough is sugar-based and vibrant pink, which is visually delightful and perfect for those who enjoy pink desserts. However, my baking experience with these cookies highlighted some important points. The package recommends baking them at 325°F for 9-11 minutes. I followed this guidance but ended up baking for 12 minutes and then letting them cool for 10 minutes. Despite this, the cookies remained very soft and fragile, making them prone to breaking. I then returned them to the oven for a few more minutes, which made the exterior crispy but did not fix the grainy texture inside. From texture perspective, the graininess inside suggests that perhaps the dough composition or baking instructions need improvement to achieve the ideal soft yet cohesive cookie texture. If you enjoy soft cookies but dislike a grainy mouthfeel, these might not meet your expectations. Flavor-wise, while the sweetness was balanced and enjoyable, the overall taste was underwhelming, earning a low rating in my opinion. One tip I’d share based on this experience is to experiment carefully with baking times and temperatures. Sometimes, lowering the temperature slightly and baking a bit longer can help the cookie bake through more evenly without the grainy texture. Also, letting them cool completely before handling might improve their stability. If you’re attracted to the allergen-free and visually charming aspects of these cookies, they could still be a fun occasional purchase, but I wouldn’t recommend them as a go-to treat due to texture issues. Fans of pink and Barbie-themed desserts might appreciate their look but take these texture notes into account before buying. Overall, these cookies offer a unique Target find with room for improvement in texture and flavor.
