idc if ur a therian/furry, I'll still love you 🧡
Seeing the original post really resonated with me. It’s so important to remember that behind every therian mask or furry suit, there's a unique and wonderful human being. Just like the post says, 'There's a PERSON behind those masks,' and they deserve kindness and understanding, not judgment. It’s about celebrating individuality and creating safe spaces for everyone. One question I often see pop up, especially when people are trying to understand these communities, is: 'Can you be a furry and a therian at the same time?' Absolutely! While they are distinct identities, there's a beautiful overlap. Being a therian means identifying as a non-human animal, spiritually or psychologically. It's about an internal sense of self. Being a furry, on the other hand, is generally about an appreciation for anthropomorphic animal characters and often involves joining a fandom, creating art, or even wearing a fursuit. Many therians are also part of the furry fandom because it's a space where they can express their animalistic side and connect with others who share similar interests. It’s a spectrum of identity and expression, and there’s no single right way to experience it. Another significant aspect often discussed is the presence of 'LGBTQ+ therians' and LGBTQ+ individuals within the furry community. It's crucial to acknowledge that both the therian and furry communities are incredibly diverse and often very welcoming to LGBTQ+ individuals. Many people find these communities to be safe spaces where they can explore all facets of their identity, including their gender and sexual orientation, without fear of judgment. Just like in any diverse group, acceptance and support for LGBTQ+ members are vital. It's about celebrating individuality in all its forms, ensuring everyone feels valued and respected for who they are. Within the therian community, there are countless ways people identify – from different species to various internal experiences. Whether someone identifies as a wolf therian, a feline therian, or any other specific 'essence' or type, their journey is personal and valid. It’s about understanding and respecting these diverse experiences, rather than questioning them. Every therian's path is unique and deserves to be recognized with an open mind. Sadly, the original post also highlighted some painful misconceptions and bullying. Reading lines like 'If my kid is a therian or furry I'll disown them!!' really hits home. As the images wisely put it, 'If you will disown your child for being "different," do not have kids.' This isn't just about therians or furries; it's about accepting your loved ones for who they are. We treat animals with 'love and respect right?' So why wouldn't we extend that same compassion to fellow human beings, regardless of their identity or interests? Bullying anyone for their identity or hobbies is never okay. Instead of judgment, let's offer an open mind and a kind heart. Ultimately, this community, like any other, thrives on empathy and mutual respect. Let's foster environments where everyone, whether they identify as a therian, a furry, LGBTQ+, or any combination, feels seen, valued, and loved. Because love and acceptance are always the answer. 🧡
