Is it From God?

That persistent unrest usually means it's not where His Spirit is leading you. Does it contradict anything God has clearly stated in His Word? For example, if I'm considering something that requires dishonesty or mistreating others, I immediately know it's not from God, because His Word is clear on those things. It's not about finding a verse that explicitly says 'take that job at Company X,' but rather understanding the heart of God as revealed in the Bible and applying those truths to my situation. This is where it gets tricky, right? We often 'chase things that God does not really want' because they stem from 'our own desires,' or what the images describe as 'just our flesh' or 'our mind calling us to it.' It's so easy to confuse our aspirations, even good ones, with God's perfect plan. The difference often lies in that peace and closeness factor. I've found that when something is truly from God, there's a supernatural confirmation – a sense of rightness that transcends my own logical reasoning, even if it feels challenging. Talk to trusted spiritual mentors or friends who can speak into your life from a place of godly wisdom. Sometimes, we're too close to a situation to see clearly. And, of course, bathe everything in prayer. Ask God to reveal His will, to close doors that aren't His, and to open the right ones. He promises to guide those who seek Him. Learning how to know if something is from God is a journey, not a destination. It requires patience, humility, and a constant leaning on Him. But by using these discernment tools – the peace test, the closeness test, checking it against His Word, and honestly examining our own desires – we can grow in confidence that we are indeed walking in His divine purpose. Remember, if you're not 'feeling peace in whatever it is that you're chasing or pursuing, then it's not from God.'
