God Is Always There

... Read moreIt’s a question that has echoed in my heart and, I’m sure, in many of yours: 'Why does God allow us to go through hard times?' When life feels overwhelming, and we’re wrestling with fear and uncertainty, it’s natural to wonder where God is in it all. I’ve personally experienced seasons where I felt completely lost, questioning every step. But through those very challenges, I've learned profound truths about His unwavering presence and unending grace. One of the biggest lessons I’ve gathered is that God isn't putting us through these tough situations to punish us, but often to refine us. Think of it like a refiner's fire – the heat is intense, but its purpose is to burn away impurities, leaving behind something purer and stronger. These times build our character, teach us resilience, and deepen our dependence on Him. He allows challenges so we can learn to truly lean on Him, not just ourselves. It's in our weakest moments that His strength is perfected, enabling us to overcome anything. So, how does God help us in times of trouble? He doesn't just watch from afar; He is always with us. This isn't just a hopeful thought; it's a profound promise. The Bible, our ultimate truth, assures us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. I often cling to verses like Deuteronomy 31:6, which reminds us: 'Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.' This truth helps quiet the mental chaos and brings comfort even when everything around me feels out of control. It’s knowing that the Lord is with me, that I am not alone, that allows me to feel strong, even when I'm terrified. His grace is truly shown when we're walking through troubling times. It's the unexpected peace in the storm, the surge of strength when you thought you had nothing left, or the perfect Bible verse that speaks directly to your soul. I remember a time I felt utterly defeated; but then a friend shared Isaiah 41:10 with me: 'So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.' It was exactly what I needed to hear, a direct comfort from God. Sometimes, God allows us to go through difficult times because He has a bigger plan in mind – a plan we can’t always see from our current perspective. These struggles give us an opportunity to witness His faithfulness firsthand, to grow in faith, and to gain empathy for others who are also suffering. It's an invitation to trust His sovereignty, even when His ways seem mysterious. So, when you feel like asking, 'Why is God putting me through so much?' remember His promise: He IS always there, ready to comfort, strengthen, and guide you through it all. We are never truly alone, and with Him, we can overcome anything.
