It's so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day, isn't it? But every now and then, I find it incredibly powerful to just pause and realize how far God has brought me. It’s not always a straight line, this journey of faith, but looking back, I can always see His hand. One particular verse that has resonated deeply with me, especially during challenging times, is Job 5:18: "For he wounds, but he also binds up; he injures, but his hands also heal." When I first read that, it felt a bit stark, honestly. "He wounds?" That can be tough to hear. But as I’ve grown in my faith and reflected on my own life path, I’ve come to understand it differently. It’s not about God actively causing harm for no reason. Instead, it speaks to His sovereignty even in moments of pain, and more importantly, His ultimate power to bring comfort, restoration, and healing out of anything we face. I remember a moment a few years ago when I felt completely lost. A significant setback in my personal life left me feeling incredibly injured, not physically, but emotionally and spiritually. It felt like a deep wound. I questioned everything, and honestly, it was hard to see God's purpose in it. But slowly, through prayer, community, and diving deeper into His Word, I started to see glimmers of hope. It wasn't an overnight fix, but a gradual process where I felt His hands gently binding up those wounds. He brought people into my life who offered support, gave me wisdom, and helped me reflect on what I was learning. That season, though painful, ultimately led to immense growth and a stronger confidence in His unfailing love. This verse isn't just about surviving hard times; it's about seeing God's work throughout your entire journey. It reminds us that setbacks aren't the end, but often a part of His greater plan for our completion. Just like Philippians 1:6 says, "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." This promise gives me such peace. It means that even when I feel like I'm not making progress, or when I stumble, God is still at work, refining, molding, and guiding me. So, if you're in a tough season right now, feeling a bit wounded, or just struggling to see the way forward, I want to encourage you. Take a moment to remember Job 5:18. Trust that the same hands that allow challenges are the same hands that will carry you through, bring healing, and ultimately fulfill His good purpose in you. Keep knowing that He is faithful, and He will carry you forward. You are not alone on this path, and His work in you will continue until it is complete. Let that thought fill you with confidence today!
