Glute SCULPTING Treadmill Workout for a BIG Booty🍑
Are you ready to sculpt those glutes and make them stronger than ever? 🔥🍑 If you’ve been on the hunt for a treadmill workout that specifically targets your glutes, you’re in the right place!!
This 60-minute treadmill routine is designed to activate your glutes, improve endurance, and help you build that lower-body strength we all crave. Whether you want to lift, tone, or just improve your overall lower body, this workout will definitely give you results!
Before we dive in, let me remind you that mind-muscle connection is key 🧠. It’s not just about working hard; it’s about working smart. Focus on engaging those glutes with every step, especially during the incline and sprints.
Now, let’s jump into the workout!
🔥The Workout: 60-Minute Treadmill Glute Burner🔥
1. Warm-Up (5 minutes)
👟Speed: 3.0-3.5 mph
👟Incline: 0% (flat)
🍑Start with a moderate walk to get your blood flowing. This warm-up is essential to prepare your muscles for the intensity ahead. As you walk, swing your arms naturally to increase blood circulation. Maintain an upright posture with a slight lean forward from the ankles (not the waist) to activate the glutes.
2. Incline Power Walk (10 minutes)
👟Speed: 3.5-4.0 mph
👟Incline: 8-10%
🍑Increase the incline to 8-10% to engage your glutes and hamstrings. During this phase, focus on pushing through your heels. As you walk, try not to let your knees collapse inwards—keep them aligned with your toes. Imagine you're driving the movement from your hips, pushing your glutes back with every step. If you’re feeling bold, you can use your arms for a little extra momentum, but keep the focus on your glutes.
3. High Incline Hill Climb (10 minutes)
👟Speed: 3.0 mph
👟Incline: 12-15%
🍑The steeper the incline, the more you activate your glutes. Adjust the treadmill to a 12-15% incline and slow your pace to 3.0 mph. During this hill climb, focus on keeping your chest upright while pushing your hips forward and squeezing your glutes with each step. You may feel your quads working too, but don’t forget to keep the focus on driving through your heels to target the glutes as much as possible.
4. Speed Intervals (10 minutes)
👟Speed: 4.5 mph (fast walk)
👟Incline: 5%
👟Recovery Speed: 3.2 mph
👟Incline: 0%
🍑For this part of the workout, alternate between 1-minute fast walking and 1-minute recovery walking. You should be working hard during the fast walk intervals—4.5 mph is a brisk pace, and the 5% incline will engage your glutes, hamstrings, and calves. During the recovery phase, walk slower at 3.2 mph with a flat incline to let your body recover while still engaging your lower body muscles.
5. Reverse Walk (10 minutes)
👟Speed: 2.5-3.0 mph
👟Incline: 5-8%
🍑This is one of my favorite treadmill tricks to really target the glutes: walking backward. Adjust the incline to 5-8%, and walk backward at a slow pace (2.5-3.0 mph). Walking in reverse emphasizes your glutes and hamstrings even more, activating the gluteus maximus in a way that forward walking just can’t. As you walk, focus on lifting your knees and engaging your core for better stability. Keep your back straight, and be cautious with your steps, especially when reversing at an incline.
6. Incline Sprints (10 minutes)
👟Speed: 5.5-6.0 mph (sprint)
👟Incline: 10%
👟Recovery Speed: 3.0 mph
👟Incline: 0%
🍑Now it’s time to bring the intensity up with incline sprints. Set the incline to 10%, and alternate between 30-second sprint intervals and 1-minute recovery periods. Sprinting uphill works your glutes like nothing else. Sprint hard for 30 seconds, driving through your heels, and keep your body leaning slightly forward to maintain proper form. During the recovery period, reduce the speed to 3.0 mph and let your heart rate drop, but keep the movement fluid.
7. Cool Down (5 minutes)
👟Speed: 3.0 mph
👟Incline: 0%
🍑It’s important to cool down and bring your heart rate back to a resting state. Walk at a comfortable pace (3.0 mph) with a flat incline. While cooling down, take a few moments to stretch your hamstrings, quads, hip flexors, and glutes. You can even take the opportunity to reflect on how awesome that workout was.
✨9 Glute-Focused Tips to Maximize Your Results✨
🧠Mind-Muscle Connection
When targeting your glutes, it’s not enough to just move your legs. Think about engaging your glutes with every step. Visualize them tightening and contracting as you push through your heels, particularly during incline walking and reverse walking. This simple mental trick can make a huge difference in your workout’s effectiveness.
👟Use the Heels
Walking on an incline with a focus on pushing through your heels will immediately activate the glutes. Keep your weight on your heels and avoid leaning forward onto your toes. This helps target the posterior chain (glutes, hamstrings, and calves), maximizing your results.
📊Tempo Training
Slowing down during your treadmill workout can actually be more effective for building muscle. By controlling your movements, especially during incline portions, you force your glutes to work harder to lift and stabilize. Slow down and really focus on muscle engagement to get more out of each step.
🧘Activate Before You Start
Activation exercises are a game-changer. Spend a few minutes before your workout doing glute bridges, clamshells, or donkey kicks. These exercises wake up the glutes and ensure they’re firing properly during your treadmill workout, helping you make the most of each step.
🧍Posture is Key
Stand tall with your chest lifted and shoulders back. When on an incline, lean forward slightly from the ankles—not from the waist—to avoid straining your lower back. This forward lean ensures the glutes and hamstrings are the primary muscles activated, rather than relying on the quads.
👀Focus on Your Glute Medius
Your glute medius, located on the side of your hip, is crucial for stabilizing your pelvis. While the gluteus maximus (the largest part of the glutes) does a lot of the work, strengthening the glute medius can give your glutes a more rounded and sculpted appearance. To activate this muscle, focus on pushing your hips outward during incline walking and reverse walking.
🏃Sprints = Glute Gains
Sprinting on an incline is a killer way to target your glutes. The higher the incline, the more effort it takes to push through each step, and sprinting ups the intensity. Focus on explosive power during your sprints to really activate your glutes and legs.
📈Consistency is Crucial
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will your glutes be! Consistency is key. Aim to complete this workout 2-3 times a week, alongside other leg and glute exercises, to see real results. Be patient and trust the process!
🤸Stretch for Flexibility
Flexibility matters. Stretching your glutes, hamstrings, and hip flexors after each workout helps prevent tightness and increases your range of motion. Consider adding yoga or dedicated flexibility work to your routine to keep your muscles long and flexible.
And there you have it—a complete 60-minute treadmill workout designed to help you build, tone, and sculpt your glutes. Consistency and proper form are essential, so take your time, focus on the muscle activation, and gradually increase your intensity as you progress.
Don’t forget that building your glutes is about more than just the treadmill—you should pair this routine with strength training, proper nutrition, and rest to see the best results. Keep challenging yourself and stay committed to your goals. You’re one workout closer to those glute gains, so keep it up!
Stay strong, stay focused, and most importantly, have fun with the process!
You’ve got this! 💪🍑

A strong and sculpted backside not only enhances your physique but also contributes to overall body strength and stability. Incorporating glute-focused treadmill workouts into your routine can be highly effective. The glutes are composed of three main muscles: the gluteus maximus, medius, and minimus. Each plays a crucial role in movement, stability, and posture. To maximize your workout’s effectiveness, it’s essential to focus on the mind-muscle connection. Visualizing your glutes engaging during each exercise can significantly improve your results. Include additional exercises like glute bridges and hip thrusts outside of your treadmill routine to further engage and strengthen your glutes. Rest, recovery, and proper nutrition are also essential in the journey towards building stronger glutes. Ensure you are consuming a balanced diet that includes adequate protein to support muscle repair and growth. Aim for at least 7-8 hours of quality sleep per night to optimize recovery. Incorporate stretching and flexibility work into your post-workout routine to prevent tightness and maintain your range of motion. Consistency is crucial; strive to perform these workouts 2-3 times per week while allowing your body time to adapt and grow stronger. By staying committed, you'll soon see the glute gains you've been working towards!

I put my incline on a 20 and I walk for 30 minutes like that. I can definitely see and tell a difference.
