It’s a journey

Fitting confortably into my uniform I bought 5 years ago will always be a flex for me!

Id started the class 162 and left at 145ibs after I completed my Basic Officer Leadership Course for Chaplains on December 16, 2020.

I haven’t gotten my Pink and Greens altered, yet. This body has been resilient the last 5 years and she’s still protecting me. I thank God for 5 years of serving God and Country, serving military families, and preaching the Gospel to hearts hungry for God.

I was humbled to be asked to preach at my Spiritual Mothers Church on Mother’s Day. It has always been a prayer to find out I’m pregnant on Mothers Day. We’d hoped this year was our year. It’s not YET! And as I watched the children make presentations to their mothers I cried knowing how much I long to see my babies in the natural. I’ve seen them in dreams, visions and even have a deep knowing they are in the spirit waiting for their appointed time of arrival. Even knowing all of that I had such a grief in my chest before I got up to preach.

And as they read my bio, I realized all that God has done since he called me into ministry in 2009 as a junior in college. I wanted to be a journalist and God wanted me to preach His Gospel and make disciples. Even though I fought that for 2 years I came into alignment. And as I listened to my bio read to all in hearing, I realized I will be the mother my children need because of this long wait. My heart was full, my eyes were wet and as I worshiped God with one more song before preaching I realized that I am already a mother. I’m a mother waiting for her children and in my waiting I will wait well - hopeful, grateful, thankful, excited, and living out my active faith.

I’m a mother figure in so many ways as a God Mother of 4, a mentor to many, as a spiritual mother 2 women and an aunt to my 20 something nieces and nephews. My heart is so full being a Chaplain to so many families, loving each baby and child of my Soldiers. I get to love some of the best children ever, to include my best friends babies. Oh I am so blessed. And although there’s always this sadness waiting for my own bundles of joy - my life is FULL! & my waiting will be worth it. The wait has been worth it. And when our children arrive, I will only be able to say JESUS did it.

So I am loving this health, healing, deliverance, life journey with my amazing husband and with my AWESOME GOD! And yes Cleveland has given me 8 years of experience caring for someone outside of myself and I’m grateful for Dog Mom title while yearning and excited to one day hold our babies in our arms celebrating mothers day with all the wonderful mothers I get to learn from, love deeply and celebrate daily.

Happy Mother’s Day again to all Mothers and Mother figures.

Ps. I needed a backdrop and this motorcycle was perfect haha.
