Honoring the Sacrifice of America’s
Sons and Daugh

LMemorial Day is a time to remember and reflect. One of my favorite verses is Isaiah 6:8, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’”

Today, we honor this spirit of service and America’s fallen service members who gave the last full measure of devotion to our great country. We owe our freedom and our way of life to their sacrifice.

It is also a moment to recognize the enduring courage of the families who carry their loved one’s legacy forward. Every day, our Gold Star Families carry the weight of the lost memories and holidays wrested away from them by their loved one’s commitment to mission and sacrifice to keep all of us safe.

In my short 5 years I’ve 6 Soldiers very dear to my heart. They were great men just starting their careers in the infantry. I miss them every single day.

Today we honor them and their families.

... Read moreMemorial Day is more than just a holiday; it is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by countless service members for the freedoms we enjoy today. Each year, Americans gather to pay tribute to those who have given their lives in military service. This day not only marks remembrance but also encourages conversations about the importance of recognizing the families left behind, especially Gold Star Families, who bear the enduring emotional scars of loss. Reflecting on those who served, it’s vital to acknowledge the personal stories behind the statistics. Each soldier’s story is a testament to bravery and devotion, often involving sacrifices that ripple through generations. Memorial Day serves as the perfect moment to share these personal narratives, ensuring that the legacy of these heroes lives on. Additionally, engaging in community events, such as parades and memorial services, reinforces the values of gratitude and remembrance. By participating in local tributes, individuals can connect with fellow citizens and honor the memory of our fallen service members collectively. Whether decorating graves or sharing stories online, each small act contributes to a larger narrative of appreciation and recognition that is essential to the American spirit. This Memorial Day, let us take the time not only to remember our fallen heroes but also to support their families, fostering a community that honors their sacrifices through action and compassion.
