Just a quick prayer for tired and stressed

Loving and Gracious Holy Spirit,

We come to you with open hearts and humbled minds. We know and understand there is so much to be grateful for and we thank and honor you for everyday that we’ve been given.

Thank you for all the grace you have shown us while we learn and grow to treat each other better than we have and to leave the world better than it was.

Lord we ask to be servants in your kingdom while you prepare heaven on earth.

Lord with all humility we ask you to guide us with a gentle hand through these trying and confusing times. We ask that you give us as much grace as you have shown us onto others. That you give us one extra step when we feel like we can’t take another, one deep breath when we feel our lungs about to give out, and a warm and loving embrace for when we are cold and lonely.

Lord we ask not only for these things to be done but also that you might use us, to be the grace, the love, the step, the embrace that one of your children walking a similar path might need and that we may walk like Jesus even when we are weary. That we may be an example of Christ’s love and benevolence, so that your light is shown not only to us but through us.

Lord thank you for it all. The good, the bad, the struggles and the celebrations. Thank you for getting me up this morning and getting me into church, thank you for the disagreements I’ve had with loved ones, and for the forgiveness there after. And lord I ask that you continue to be a guide and mentor to me everyday. Always helping me to walk closer to you.

In Jesus name we pray,

Amen

... Read moreLife can be incredibly demanding, can't it? There are days when I wake up already feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders. The to-do lists seem endless, the emotional demands are high, and sometimes, it feels like I'm just running on empty. If you're reading this, chances are you've experienced those moments too – that deep sense of being tired, stressed, and perhaps a little lost. In these moments, a simple, short prayer for grace can be a true lifeline. We often think of prayer as a long, formal conversation, but sometimes, all we need are a few heartfelt words to shift our perspective and open ourselves up to divine comfort. For me, grace isn't just about forgiveness; it's about receiving undeserved strength, peace, and guidance when I feel I have none left to give. It’s that gentle nudge forward when my spirit is weary, or the quiet assurance that I’m not alone in my struggles. I've found that incorporating these brief moments of prayer throughout my day makes a huge difference. Whether it's during my morning commute, a quick pause before a challenging task, or just before bed, these prayers remind me to lean on something greater than myself. It’s like hitting a spiritual reset button, allowing me to take a deep breath and remember that I don't have to carry every burden alone. It's in these quiet moments that I often find the clarity and resilience to face whatever comes next, transforming my anxiety into a calm resolve. What I love most about praying for grace is that it also encourages me to be a vessel for that same grace. When I feel God's gentle hand guiding me, it inspires me to extend a kinder hand to others, to offer a listening ear, or to simply be a comforting presence. It’s about letting that divine light shine not just on me, but through me, turning my weariness into an opportunity to reflect love and benevolence in the world, just as the original prayer so beautifully articulates. So, if you're scrolling through right now, feeling that familiar weight, I want to say, “Sorry to bother your scrolling, but could you pray with me for a moment?” Take a deep breath. Know that you are seen, you are loved, and there is immense strength available to you. Let this short prayer be your whisper for grace, a beacon of hope in your day, reminding you that even when you feel like you can't take another step, divine grace is there to lift you up.
