A prayer for your adversaries (aka “haters”)

Hallelujah Lord Jesus,

Thank you Heavenly Father I praise your Holy Name! Blessed is the Lord who gives me the opportunities to rise to the occasion. The opportunity to serve the Holy Kingdom, the opportunity to follow in his footsteps, the opportunity to spread the Good Word.

Lord I thank you for believing in me. Thank you for holding me, and guiding me step by step. And Lord thank you for the adversaries currently in my path. Lord I know that my temporary time here with them will only further strengthen and prove my relationship with you and for that Incould not be more grateful.

Lord I must admit, at times my mind races, my heart beats harder and at times I am so frightened or angry at those who speak and work against me. But I promise to turn to you in those moments of stress, for I know, like when David faced Goliath, you are with me every step of the way. That you are my protector, my teacher, my best friend and my guide. And I know that the more I turn to you, look to the word, and act as Jesus would, your light and love will reach my adversaries through my dedication to your kingdom and they will be changed.

And Heavenly Father I pray you will watch over them, guide them, and love them. I pray that every adversary has the love of Jesus Wash over them. So much so that they can no longer hurt others because they know that is not your will.

I pray for their anxious, frightened, lonely, and angry hearts and minds that cause them to behave the way they do. For they search for validation, power, and peace that can only be found through you. And Lord I promise to stay true to your word so that if it may be, they find you through me Heavenly Father.

God Bless them, and Thank you Lord for this season and the next.

In your heavenly, loving and benevolent name we pray

Amen 🙏🏾

... Read moreIt’s easy to feel overwhelmed when facing people who seem determined to work against you. I know I've been there, feeling that familiar knot of frustration and anger. My mind would race, replaying words and actions, and honestly, sometimes my heart felt heavy with resentment. But I learned something profound: holding onto that anger only hurt me more. That's when I discovered the incredible power of a forgiveness prayer for adversaries. When I first started, the idea of praying for someone who was causing me pain felt counterintuitive, almost impossible. But then I realized it wasn't about excusing their behavior; it was about freeing myself. It was about choosing to respond with love, just as the article beautifully expresses. The act of bringing my hands clasped in prayer became a physical manifestation of my intention to surrender my anger and open my heart to a different path. This isn't about being weak; it's about reclaiming your power. When I pray for my adversaries, I'm not just asking God to change them, though that's always a hope. More importantly, I'm asking for strength and peace for myself. I pray for their healing, for their own struggles that might be driving their actions. I pray that they find the peace, validation, and love that we all seek, which ultimately only comes from a higher source. It's a deeply personal spiritual practice that shifts my focus from their negativity to God's boundless grace. I’ve found that consistently engaging in this type of forgiveness prayer helps me maintain my inner calm, even when external storms rage. It's a daily commitment, sometimes a moment-by-moment choice, to release hurt and cultivate compassion. It transforms those moments of fear or anger into opportunities for spiritual growth. Forgiveness isn't a one-time event; it's a journey, and this prayer is a powerful tool on that path. So, if you're struggling with a 'hater' or an adversary right now, I encourage you to try it. Take a moment, perhaps with your hands clasped, and offer a prayer not just for strength for yourself, but for their well-being too. You might be surprised at the profound peace and freedom it brings to your own heart. It truly is a testament to God's love and provision, reminding us that even in the toughest seasons, we can find rest and embrace vulnerability, knowing that God will provide.
