Hope you like it 😅
Hey everyone! So glad you stopped by to check out my latest Harry Potter OCs. Creating original characters for the wizarding world is one of my absolute favorite things to do, and I've been really enjoying bringing Gelee, Tsunami, and River to life lately! It's such a fun process, even when they're 'Not done yet!' as some of my sketches say. When I started thinking about Gelee, I really wanted to explore a character with a slightly unconventional magical background, perhaps someone with a unique heritage or a surprising house placement. For Tsunami, I envisioned a more dynamic, perhaps rebellious personality, and tried to reflect that in her design. River, on the other hand, is still a bit of a mystery, but I'm loving the journey of figuring out their story. If you're like me and love diving into OC creation, especially for the Harry Potter universe, here are a few tips I've picked up along the way. First off, Pinterest is an absolute goldmine for inspiration! Seriously, if you're looking for aesthetic boards, character face claims, outfit ideas, or even just general mood boards for your OC's vibe, start there. I spend hours scrolling through 'Harry Potter OC aesthetic' or 'dark academia character design' pins to get my brain buzzing. When you're developing your Harry Potter OC, think beyond just their name and house. What's their family history like? Are they pure-blood, half-blood, Muggle-born? What's their wand made of, and why? What's their Patronus, and what does it say about them? For example, does Gelee have a specific reason for her eye color, or does Tsunami's patronus reflect a hidden fear or strength? These details make them feel so much more real. Don't be afraid to give them flaws! A perfect OC can sometimes be a little boring. What challenges do they face? What are their biggest fears or insecurities? How do they interact with established characters or canon events without overshadowing them? It’s a delicate balance, but a well-rounded character with struggles is much more relatable and interesting. Also, consider their Hogwarts house carefully. Sometimes it's fun to put an OC in a house you wouldn't expect them to be in at first glance, and then explore why they fit there. Maybe River, despite a seemingly Slytherin demeanor, actually holds strong Hufflepuff values deep down. Remember, it's your character and your story. There's no single 'right' way to create an OC. The most important thing is to have fun with it and let your imagination run wild. I'm still figuring out all the details for Gelee, Tsunami, and River, and that's part of the fun! What kind of Harry Potter OCs have you created? I'd love to hear about them!
