Simple Ways To Feel More Feminine
Rather you work in a male dominated industry, grew up in a household with a lot of guys, or consider yourself to have tomboy tendencies, I get it.
There are so many situations that can make us dim our feminine spark without even realizing it.
That said, I wanted to share a few low-lift practices I come back to when I need a gentle reminder to carry myself like a lady—on my terms.
And just to be clear: femininity looks different for everyone. What I’m sharing isn’t a rulebook—it’s simply what feels good to me, and the ways I choose to carry myself when I want to tap into that womanly energy.
Dress up even when dressed down: If it’s a sweats kind of day, I still like to add a little something—bold earrings, a wedge, platform, or even a gym shoe with a heel. Just something to slightly elevate the look and remind myself that comfort and effort can coexist.
Pace myself when talking: In sales-heavy environments, I’ve noticed (especially with men) that talking fast or even walking fast is often used to create urgency—like “you better get it while it’s hot.”
Social media can feel the same way, always pushing us to move quickly, hop on trends, chase what’s next.
So I slow down.
I remind myself: What’s the rush? Whose agenda am I serving by moving at someone else’s pace?
Pacing myself isn’t just about how I talk—it’s a whole mindset shift.
Scent: There’s nothing like catching a whiff of the fragrance I chose for the day.
When have you ever been in a bad mood after smelling something that lights up your senses?
Even just getting a compliment on how I smell makes me smile. Wearing a scent is like intentionally placing a smile somewhere in my day, just waiting for me to step into it.
Keeping my space tidy: When things are where I left them and my space is in order, my mind is clear. I don’t even think I need to explain this one. You already know.
Embracing femininity can be a highly personal and fulfilling journey, especially for those who have navigated male-dominated environments or identify with tomboy traits. The practice of feeling more feminine doesn't require drastic changes but rather small, intentional actions that boost confidence and self-expression. One effective way is to "dress up even when dressed down." Adding an accessory like bold earrings or opting for shoes with a heel, even on casual days, reinforces that femininity and comfort can coexist harmoniously. This subtle elevation of style acts as a gentle reminder of one's personal elegance. Another key aspect is pacing your speech and actions thoughtfully. In fast-paced, competitive settings, slowing down your talk and movements can be a powerful mindful shift. It allows you to assert control over your energy rather than succumbing to external pressures, which is an empowering expression of feminine strength and grace. The power of scent should not be underestimated. Wearing a signature fragrance can uplift mood and invite positive social interactions, enhancing feelings of femininity through sensory connection. This daily ritual serves as a private boost, gently influencing one’s confidence and presence throughout the day. Maintaining tidy personal spaces such as your purse, car, or home environment significantly impacts mental clarity and emotional calm. An organized space reflects inner order and respect for oneself, reinforcing a feminine sense of harmony and care. Incorporating these low-lift, authentic practices allows anyone to nurture their femininity in a way that feels true and joyful. Remember, femininity is a diverse spectrum, and these strategies can be adapted to suit individual preferences and lifestyles, making it a personalized celebration of womanly energy on your own terms.
