there is no place like HOME, and by home i mean my kitchen!
as much as i loved the girl’s trip, the late nights, and the nonstop laughter, my soul was craving a "SUNDAY RESET" on a monday.
i definitely missed my man, but i think i missed my favorite skillet just as much!
after days of eating out and toasted glasses, there is something so incredibly soothing about that first home-cooked meal. the kitchen is quiet, the ingredients are fresh, and the energy is just… grounded. back in my happy place and it feels so good. 🌿🥘🥰
After traveling or enjoying social gatherings, returning to the kitchen for a simple, home-cooked meal can be incredibly restorative. From my experience, using a favorite skillet or cookware brings a sense of familiarity and relaxation, enhancing the cooking process. When I prepare a quick meal at home, I focus on fresh, wholesome ingredients—like seasonal vegetables and high-quality proteins—that come together effortlessly but taste satisfying and nourishing. I often call it a “SUNDAY RESET” meal, even if it happens on a weekday. This involves setting aside some quiet time in the kitchen, away from distractions, which helps me reconnect with myself and recharge my energy. The smell and sounds of cooking create a grounding atmosphere, making the kitchen my happy place. Even simple dishes, such as sautéed vegetables with herbs or a skillet-cooked protein, can turn into a delicious comfort food experience. Eating out for several days, while fun and social, sometimes leaves me craving this quiet ritual of preparing food at home. It’s not only about the meal itself but the process—the chopping, stirring, and hearing the sizzle—that soothes the soul. So if you find yourself missing your favorite kitchen tools or craving balance after busy days, I highly recommend trying a quick and easy meal at home. It revitalizes both body and mind and reminds you why there’s truly no place like home—especially the kitchen.
