I saw him today
Lately I’ve been going through a season of waiting, wanting, and sadness. There’s so much fear that’s consumed my mind and life that I finally hit a breaking point.
Lately it feels I’ve begged God everyday to show himself to me, to make all these issues disappear.
I confessed every sin I could think of last night in this journal I’ve had for years in the hopes that it would change my perception.
I’ve started listening to this pastor’s sermons (I’ll link him below) that reminded me that using God as a genie is not how you build a relationship with him. If you struggle being a lukewarm christian I want you to know that you’re not alone. Building that relationship is sometimes so incredibly hard.
Today, after writing my 4 page confession, and thanking him for a plethora of good things in my life…I went to the gym, something I’ve put off for years since I’ve been in this slump.
Wouldn’t you know it. There he was. Not loud and in your face, but a whisper, something anyone could’ve easily missed. Yet, there he was. Today, I will appreciate the little reminder of “keep going, I’m watching, I’m here”
