I saw him today
Lately I’ve been going through a season of waiting, wanting, and sadness. There’s so much fear that’s consumed my mind and life that I finally hit a breaking point.
Lately it feels I’ve begged God everyday to show himself to me, to make all these issues disappear.
I confessed every sin I could think of last night in this journal I’ve had for years in the hopes that it would change my perception.
I’ve started listening to this pastor’s sermons (I’ll link him below) that reminded me that using God as a genie is not how you build a relationship with him. If you struggle being a lukewarm christian I want you to know that you’re not alone. Building that relationship is sometimes so incredibly hard.
Today, after writing my 4 page confession, and thanking him for a plethora of good things in my life…I went to the gym, something I’ve put off for years since I’ve been in this slump.
Wouldn’t you know it. There he was. Not loud and in your face, but a whisper, something anyone could’ve easily missed. Yet, there he was. Today, I will appreciate the little reminder of “keep going, I’m watching, I’m here”

In life's difficult seasons, many individuals find themselves in a state of waiting and searching for divine signs. The struggle to maintain a strong relationship with God can lead to feelings of loneliness, especially for those who identify as lukewarm Christians. Discovering strength through prayer, meditation, and even journal writing can help foster a deeper connection with faith. It's essential to remember that building a relationship with God isn’t about asking for solutions but about nurturing a bond that allows for communication and understanding. Listening to inspiring sermons can also play a significant role. Sermons that focus on faith during adversity can provide comfort and guidance, encouraging individuals to seek God earnestly even when the path is challenging. Personal experiences, such as returning to activities like exercise, often become catalysts for spiritual awakening. These moments can serve as gentle reminders from God that He is always present, inviting us to reflect on our blessings and the intricate journey of faith we embark upon daily. Emphasizing gratitude for the small things can transform our perspective and renew our hope.
