Dear diary: friends to forever

Random Thoughts

💭What's on my mind: Missing home. This is the first time I’ve ever moved and it’s states away. As I don’t miss home itself. I miss everyone that makes home. Home. I know I’m ready to go back home for a little bit but I know that I won’t ever live there again. Which is okay. I’ve always known I would be the one to move away.

Current Mood: TIRED! I accidentally took and nap after work!!

While new adventures await, there’s this undeniable ache for the people who truly make a place feel like home – our friends. I totally get that feeling of missing the everyday 'us,' those little moments that build into a lifetime of memories. When I think about 'friendship bonding moments,' it's not always grand gestures. It’s often the simple, spontaneous things. Like those endless car rides singing along to our favorite tunes, or impromptu group photos taken during a casual hangout. Even just those silly mirror selfies we’d snap before going out, capturing our excitement. These aren't just pictures; they're snapshots of shared experiences and the deep strong bond we cultivate with our best friends. They’re the inside jokes, the knowing glances, the comfort of just being together, even in silence. Those daily moments of connection are truly invaluable. It’s a real challenge to keep those bonds strong when you’re not physically together. I’ve found that being intentional is key. Regular video calls, even if it's just a quick catch-up over coffee, can make a huge difference. Planning visits, even if they’re months apart, gives you something exciting to look forward to. And sometimes, it’s the small things, like sending a random funny meme, a thoughtful care package, or just a 'thinking of you' text, that truly keep the connection alive. Sharing updates about your new life, and actively listening to theirs, ensures you're still part of each other's journey. And as you settle into a new place, don't forget to open yourself up to new friendship bonding moments. It might feel daunting to start over, but every coffee date, every new group activity, is a chance to build those shared experiences again. These new connections don't replace the old ones; they enrich your life in different ways. It’s about expanding your circle and creating a new network of support. Ultimately, true friendship transcends distance and time. The memories of all those friendship bonding moments become the bedrock of your relationships, a comfort you can always lean on. It reminds us that even when we move, our hearts stay connected to those who shaped us. So, here's to cherishing every moment, near or far, with the friends who truly make life feel like home!
