What’s a soulmate?

#CapCut I do not ever pretend to have the perfect relationship but I do promise I have my best friend as a partner. Marriage is not easy, loving someone is hard, staying when the world feels against you is excruciating but it is so worth it when you have your best friend, your soulmate by your side. We have been by each other side (not always physically but at least on the phone) every single day, even when we couldn’t stand each other, since October of 2009 and I can’t imagine a world where we aren’t by each others side. Soulmates doesn’t mean it’s easy soulmates mean you choose each other even when it’s hard.

... Read moreWhen we talk about soulmates, many people picture a fairytale where everything is effortless and perfect. But from my own journey, I've learned that the true meaning of a soulmate connection runs much deeper than that. It's not just about a lightning bolt moment, but about a profound and ongoing choice to walk through life with someone, celebrating the good and navigating the challenging together. What I've come to understand is that a soulmate isn't someone who completes you, but someone who encourages you to complete yourself, by your side. It's about shared values and mutual respect, even when your personalities might seem to clash. Compatibility isn't about being identical; it's often about complementing each other's strengths and weaknesses, learning from different perspectives, and growing together. My partner and I aren't always on the same page, but we always find our way back to understanding and support, which is, to me, the ultimate relationship compatibility. That deep soulmate connection is something you actively build. It’s nurtured through countless conversations, shared vulnerabilities, and the silent understanding that comes from years of experience. It's the feeling of being truly seen, understood, and accepted for who you are, flaws and all. This kind of intimacy isn't just physical; it's emotional, intellectual, and even spiritual. It's the comfort of knowing you can share anything without judgment, and the reassurance that you have a safe space within that person. In my experience, a soulmate relationship brings a unique kind of illumination into your life. They can act as a mirror, reflecting parts of yourself you might not have seen before, pushing you to be a better version of yourself without ever making you feel less than. This personal connection isn't always easy; sometimes that illumination can highlight areas for growth that are uncomfortable. But it's precisely in these moments of challenge that the bond can deepen, as you both commit to working through difficulties, rather than giving up. It's about choosing each other, every single day, even when it feels like the world is against you. And in the end, that unwavering choice makes the journey incredibly worth it.
