Love horses 🐎

Oh my goodness, you guys! I just had to share more about my incredible walk today. Seriously, meeting a horse out in the wild (or at least, a very open field!) was an experience I won't forget. It wasn't just a brief glance; this beautiful creature actually paused, looked my way, and it felt like we shared a moment. Have you ever had something like that happen? It just makes your day, doesn't it? When I first spotted it, my heart did a little flutter. You know that feeling when you see an animal you adore up close, unexpectedly? My first instinct was pure excitement! But then, I remembered some basic common sense. Even though they look majestic and often gentle, horses are powerful animals. So, I made sure to approach slowly, keeping a respectful distance at first. I didn't want to startle it or make it feel threatened. I just stood quietly for a bit, letting it get used to my presence. It’s always a good idea to assess the situation. Is there an owner around? In my case, it looked like this horse was grazing in a paddock next to a trail, so I assumed it was used to people, but I still wouldn't just walk right up to it without an owner's permission. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, especially if a horse approaches you, remember to keep your movements calm and predictable. Avoid sudden gestures or loud noises. The best part was when it slowly walked closer to the fence. Its eyes were so deep and intelligent. I didn't have any treats on me, and honestly, it's generally best not to feed unfamiliar animals without knowing their diet or if it's allowed. But just being able to be near it, to see its beautiful coat up close and hear its soft snorts, was enough. It truly felt like making a new friend, even if it was just for a few minutes. These real-life encounters with animals, especially horses, are just so grounding. In our busy lives, it's easy to forget the simple joys of nature and the wonderful creatures that share our world. It reminded me why I'm such a #horselover and why I cherish every moment spent around them. Whether you're a seasoned #horsegirl or just someone who appreciates their beauty, a spontaneous horse meeting can absolutely brighten your day. If you ever get the chance to meet a horse in person, make sure to do it safely and respectfully. Observe its body language – are its ears pricked forward (curious) or flattened back (annoyed)? Is it relaxed or tense? Learning a little about horse behavior can make these interactions even more special and safe for both you and the horse. And always, always prioritize safety.
