My Grandmother made a cake like this. She add’s a lemon to a whole lemon to the cake mix. ie the whole zest & all the lemon juice to it as well. With the frosting she would add a the whole zest of another lemon & then add 1/2 the juice of the lemon to the frosting yes sometimes you do need to add some powdered sugar to make it stiffen it back up cause some lemon’s are super juicy lol 😜 😆 😂 I REALLY think you should try it next time you make this cake. It really will be a game changer. Oh it’s oh so so yummy. She would say I don’t always have time to make a cake from scratch but you can add some stuff to a box cake to make it better than just a box cake. Lol 😆
