Acts 4:13.. they had been with Jesus

2025/9/5 Edited to

... Read moreIt’s amazing how a simple verse like Acts 4:13 can resonate so deeply, reminding us that when we truly spend time with Jesus, it doesn't just change us internally – it becomes evident to those around us. I’ve personally experienced this profound shift. For a long time, I struggled with consistency in my spiritual walk, wondering how to truly 'be with Jesus' in a meaningful way beyond just going to church. But over time, I’ve found some practical rhythms that have made all the difference, and I want to share them with you, especially if you’re just starting your journey or looking to deepen your connection. One of the most impactful changes I made was integrating my faith into my morning routine. There’s something incredibly special about waking up a little earlier, making a warm cup of coffee, and settling into a quiet study session with my Bible. It’s not about rushing through chapters, but about creating space to listen. I often use a 'STUDY WITH ME' approach, picking a specific passage, maybe a chapter, and just sitting with it. Reading through Acts chapter 4, for instance, and seeing how Peter and John’s boldness was directly linked to their time with Jesus, is incredibly inspiring. It helps me remember that this isn't just an ancient story; it’s a living truth for today. If you're new to Bible study, don't feel overwhelmed. Start small! Maybe just a few verses each day, or focus on a single book. I find journaling incredibly helpful; writing down what stands out, any questions I have, or how the passage applies to my life helps solidify the message. Sometimes, I even listen to an audio Bible while I’m getting ready, just to immerse myself in His word. The key is to find what works for you to make it engaging and personal. Don't be afraid to try different translations or devotionals as well. Of course, there are days when motivation dwindles, or distractions creep in. That's totally normal! I've learned that grace is essential. If I miss a day, I don't let guilt paralyze me; I simply pick up where I left off the next morning. Sometimes, my 'quiet time' might just be a short prayer walk or listening to worship music during my commute. The goal isn't perfection, but presence. The more consistent I become, the more I notice a difference in my patience, my perspective on challenges, and my overall peace throughout the day. And just like the people in Acts recognized Peter and John had been with Jesus, I've had friends and family comment on a newfound calm or resilience in me. It’s humbling and truly a testament to His transformative power. This journey of spending time with Jesus isn't just a spiritual exercise; it's an invitation to become more fully ourselves in Him, reflecting His light in a world that desperately needs it. So, grab that coffee, open your Bible, and allow yourself to be transformed.
