Peace Over Curiosity

Lately I’ve been catching myself wondering, “Are they talking about me?” It steals my time and wrecks my mood. My chest tightens, my brain spins, and I start drafting speeches to prove I was hurt.

I don’t want to live like that.

So I’m trying something different: if it lands harsh, I say, “That doesn’t work for me,” and I leave. No big exit. No defense brief. I don’t need to prove I was hurt to set and keep a boundary.

I can respect people and still choose distance. Curiosity can rent space in my head, but it doesn’t get to live there. When I feel the urge to check, I come back to my life—the real things that feed my soul.

If you need this too, borrow it. Peace first.
