... Read moreDuring my visit to The Royale, I was truly impressed by how the restaurant seamlessly blends Thai flavors with traditional breakfast favorites. The Avocado Croissant Toast stood out not only because of its freshness and generous portions but also due to the subtle pickled onions that added a tangy punch, balancing the creamy avocado and runny poached egg beautifully. It’s a dish that feels indulgent yet wholesome—perfect for a satisfying morning meal. I also tried the Iced Caramel Macchiato, which visually delighted me with the adorable bear art on the foam. While it is on the sweeter side, it’s an excellent treat for those who enjoy a flavorful coffee experience with a dessert-like twist. For anyone sensitive to sweetness, asking for less caramel syrup might provide a better balance. Additionally, the menu offers a creative twist on classic breakfast items by incorporating Thai-influenced spices and ingredients. For example, their take on Thai-style pancakes and savory dishes infuses unexpected but pleasant flavors like coconut milk, lemongrass, and chili, making each bite adventurous yet comforting. For people visiting with family, The Royale’s cozy atmosphere and diverse menu options cater well to different tastes and preferences. It’s truly a gem in the East Bay area, especially if you’re on the lookout for breakfast spots that go beyond the usual and offer something memorable and delicious. If you’re planning a day out in the Bay Area and want to start with a standout breakfast, I highly recommend giving The Royale a try—it’s an experience that blends culture, flavor, and creativity, leaving you looking forward to your next visit.
