Happy august 1st!!! 🫶🏽 another one of our many unofficial starts to fall, although this one actually feels like the true serious one lol 🎃🎃

It's still technically summer outside, but inside it’s 100% spooky season & fall in my cozy cottage! Unfortunately it is way too hot outside today, so i’ve taken matters into my own hands: AC is officially on blast, i’m in my favorite fall lounge set, a fall candle is burning, and i’m sipping on a cozy drink while a halloween movie plays! 🧦🌬️☕️🕯️

I might also pull out a little more of my fall decor out.. Who's going to stop me?? lol

I am already so ready for the cozy fall vibes to roll in... fall bonfires floating through the crisp breeze, the changing leaves, the first pumpkins showing up in supermarket displays, local farm stands putting out their fall goodies, and the sun setting earlier... I'm so excited for it all! 🍎🌬️🍂

... Read moreAs someone who loves the transition into fall, I totally get the excitement around August 1st marking an early but serious start to autumn vibes. Despite the lingering summer heat, I always find ways to bring that cozy fall ambiance indoors. For example, I love lighting a pumpkin or cinnamon-scented candle paired with a warm drink like apple cider or spiced tea to instantly create a snug atmosphere. Playing Halloween movies or autumnal playlists in the background helps set the mood even more. Decorating early can be so rewarding—pulling out lanterns, mini pumpkins, and plaid blankets transforms any space into a cozy haven. Plus, it’s a great excuse to enjoy fall treats ahead of the official season! Trader Joe’s apple cider and cinnamon sugar donuts quickly become morning staples. I’ve found that visiting local farm stands in late summer often means finding early pumpkin varieties and fresh apple products, which enhance the seasonal excitement. Even though the sun is still shining bright and temperatures can be high, setting your thermostat to cool while you get comfy indoors is key. I personally love wearing my favorite soft fall lounge wear that feels warm yet breathable. It perfectly balances the indoor chill with the outside warmth. Having a home filled with autumn décor and scents can make the heat more bearable as it mentally shifts your focus toward the cozy season to come. Finally, I enjoy the anticipation of autumn evenings—imagining fall bonfires, the crispness of the cooling breeze, and watching leaves change colors in the coming weeks. Celebrating ‘Augtober’ is a fun way to stretch the joy of fall’s arrival and embrace those magical moments a bit earlier each year.
