Originally, people in Thailand had long hair and boxing, both men and women, did not release a grandmother. It was popular until the Ayutthaya era, where Ayutthaya women made "Sogong Dong" (the same hairstyle as Mon Dam), high hair, adorned with pips, tights, and deteriorated in popularity during the Narayah era.
Later, women started to have "wing hair" around their heads and let go of long hair, divided into two layers, but some women had short hair like men. จากการศึกษาและภาพวาดโบราณ พบว่าผู้หญิงอยุธยามีการไว้ผมที่หลากหลายและสื่อความหมายทางสังคมวัฒนธรรมอย่างชัดเจนค่ะ เช่นทรงผมโซงโขดงที่เกล้าสูงและประดับด้วยปิ่น รัดเกล้า สะท้อนถึงความสง่างามและฐานะที่มั่นคงในสังคม หากมองทรงผมปีกซึ่งเริ่มเป็นที่นิยมในช่วงปลายอยุธยา จะเห็นได้ว่ามีการแบ่งชั้นผมชัดเจนและปล่อยยาวสลวย ซึ่งบางครั้งก็ถูกนำเสนอในละครไทยย้อนยุคเพื่อสะท้อนความอ่อนช้อยและบุคลิกของตัวละครหญิงยุคนั้น นอกจากนี้ การไว้ผมสั้นของผู้หญิงในสมัยอยุธยาก็เป็นเรื่องน่าสนใจที่ต้องเข้าใจบริบททางสังคม เช่น อาจมีความเกี่ยวข้องกับเหตุผลด้านความปลอดภัยในช่วงสงคราม หรือแม้แต่การเลียนแบบทรงผมของผู้ชายเพื่อความสะดวกสบาย และยังมีทรงผมที่ละครไทยมักไม่ค่อยเสนอ เช่น ผมยาวถึงต้นคอที่ปาดไปข้างหลังด้วยน้ำมันตานีหรือขี้ผึ้ง จัดทรงให้ดูเหมือนหางเป็ด ซึ่งเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของยุคสมัยนั้นอีกด้วย จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวในการศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์ ผมพบว่าการเข้าใจทรงผมของยุคอยุธยานั้นไม่เพียงแต่เรื่องความงามเท่านั้น แต่ยังช่วยให้เราเห็นภาพรวมของสังคม ความเชื่อ และบทบาทของผู้หญิงในแต่ละยุคสมัยด้วย จึงอยากแนะนำว่า หากได้ดูละครย้อนยุค หรือชมภาพวาดโบราณ ควรลองสังเกตเรื่องทรงผมเพิ่มเติม เพราะมันคือหนึ่งในตัวบ่งชี้ที่สำคัญของวัฒนธรรมและประวัติศาสตร์ไทยค่ะ
