Artie and summer

You’ve seen some of his summer moments, and let me tell you, having a Boston Terrier like Artie makes every day an adventure, especially during the warmer months! For those of you who might be considering getting a Boston Terrier, or if you're just a fellow dog lover, you know these little guys are packed with personality. Artie is so playful and loyal, and he absolutely loves being part of everything we do. Their compact size makes them perfect for city living, but they’ve got enough energy to enjoy outdoor activities too. They truly are the best companions! Summer with Artie means extra care, though. As a brachycephalic (flat-faced) breed, Boston Terriers can be sensitive to heat. So, my top tip for summer is always hydration and timing our outdoor fun. We make sure Artie always has access to fresh, cool water, and we try to do our longer walks early in the morning or late in the evening when the sun isn't as strong. Midday, we stick to indoor games or short potty breaks in the shade. Speaking of outdoor fun, Artie absolutely rocks his patterned harness! It’s not just about looking cute (though he definitely does!), but also about comfort and safety. I always opt for a lightweight, breathable harness during summer to prevent overheating and ensure he’s comfortable on our walks. It’s important to make sure it fits well and doesn’t chafe, especially when they’re moving around a lot. I'm always on the lookout for new OOTD (Outfit Of The Day) ideas for him that are both stylish and practical! We love finding dog-friendly parks where Artie can sniff around and explore, but on really hot days, we might just chill indoors with some puzzle toys or a good old game of fetch in the living room. Keeping their paws safe from hot pavement is another big one – if it’s too hot for your bare hand, it’s too hot for their paws! Sometimes we even use paw balms to keep them moisturized and protected. Overall, living with Artie is a constant source of joy and laughter. He’s more than just a pet; he’s family. Whether we're enjoying a sunny afternoon or just cuddling on the couch, every moment with Artie is precious. If you're lucky enough to have a dog like Artie in your life, cherish those moments, and always prioritize their comfort and safety, especially when the seasons change!
