A beautiful evening of local flavours and fresh, sustainable produce in a setting that feels both refined and down-to-earth. RUSTICA Singapore
If you're planning a visit to Rustica Singapore on Crawford Lane, I highly recommend trying their unique dish, the Laksa Prawn Puff — the blend of prawn and barramundi paste with rich laksa sauce was impressive, showcasing the freshness of local seafood from The Fish Farmer. The Satay Duck & Mushroom appetizer garnished with edible flowers truly elevated the presentation and taste, reflecting the careful sourcing from YSH Farm. Beyond the appetizers, the Roasted Chicken Crown with White Pepper Sauce stands out with its deeply savory sauce that's distinct yet comforting, making it a highlight of the meal. The vegetarians shouldn’t miss the Stir Fry Nai Bai, which was delightfully crispy rather than soggy, a refreshing twist thanks to produce from Green Loop Farm. To complement the meal, the Bluepea Flower Fragrant Rice with crispy shallots added a lovely aromatic finish. For dessert lovers, the Apam Berkuah — a coconut pancake with caramelised banana and gula melaka sauce — was an elegant and comforting choice. The housemade vanilla bean waffles paired with Horlick and Dark Chocolate gelato made for a nostalgic yet indulgent ice cream sandwich. The drinks menu also offers refreshing options like Rustica Lemonade and Iced Bandung Latte, perfect alongside these local flavors. The ambiance at Rustica perfectly matches its menu—rustic yet modern with warm lighting, wooden and white furnishings, and potted plants providing a homely feel. It's a peaceful retreat right in the heart of the city, making it ideal for casual dinners or relaxed catch-ups. Based on my experience, the commitment to local, sustainable ingredients and the thoughtful menu development makes Rustica a standout choice among farm-to-table dining options in Singapore, especially near Little India and Crawford Lane areas. If you're searching for a rustic café with quality food and a cozy atmosphere, Rustica is definitely worth a visit.
