When selecting probiotics, look for strains like Lactobacillus reuteri and Lactobacillus rhamnosus, which have been shown to support vaginal health. I usually take probiotic supplements daily, especially after antibiotic treatments or during times of increased vulnerability, such as stress or hormonal changes. In addition to probiotics, paying attention to feminine hygiene practices is crucial. Avoiding harsh soaps and scented products helps preserve the natural vaginal flora. Wearing breathable, cotton underwear and changing out of wet clothes promptly can also support a healthy environment. From personal experience, communicating openly with partners about sexual health and using protection methods can lower the chances of BV caused by bacterial imbalances linked to sexual activity. While BV can be disappointing and sometimes tied to trust issues, focusing on self-care and prevention empowers you to regain comfort and confidence quickly.
