Read moreThis Tres Leches Banana Pudding Cake is a delightful twist on traditional tres leches by incorporating ripe bananas and vanilla pudding, adding layers of flavor and texture that elevate the classic dessert. When making this cake, I found that using a yellow cake mix along with ripe bananas blends beautifully to create a moist, flavorful base that absorbs the creamy tres leches milk mixture — composed of evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and regular milk. Adding vanilla wafers gives an extra crunch and nostalgic touch reminiscent of banana pudding, while the cool whip on top makes it light and airy, balancing the richness. The inclusion of ground cinnamon and vanilla extract enhances the depth of flavor and gives a subtle spice note that complements the sweetness of the bananas and milk. For best results, be sure to soften butter before mixing to ensure even incorporation, and when assembling, gently poke holes in the cooled cake to allow the milks to soak in deeply, ensuring every bite is decadently moist. You can also experiment by layering with extra banana slices or even sprinkle some toasted coconut for added tropical flair. In my experience, refrigerating the cake for several hours or overnight allows the flavors to meld perfectly, creating a luscious and satisfying dessert that’s ideal for celebrations or any occasion where you want to impress with a unique take on tres leches. This recipe’s combination of classic ingredients with a banana pudding twist makes it a crowd-pleaser that’s both comforting and refreshing.
