DC’s HOTTEST bakery alert ‼️🍩🍰🥐
🥖I’ve known about this home bakery for quite a while now but somehow never got my hands on any of their baked goods! honestly not sure why 🤔
BUT thankfully that changed this weekend and I got to try pastries and cake from 📍Capitol Jill Baking, a neighborhood microbakery specializing in naturally leavened bread, pastries, and modern cakes & flavors inspired by the seasons and the owner Jill's upbringing in Hanoi, Vietnam 🇻🇳
🥖Jill does menu drops every Sunday via hotplate and she rotates flavors frequently. You will have to be quick because she gets SOLD OUT almost every time because her stuff is that good!
Here’s what I tried:
🥭Mango Lassi Donut
🥐 Traditional Swedish Cardamom Bun
🍰 Rhubarb Earl Grey Cake Slice
🥒 Dijon Mustard & Dill Pickle Biscuit
💯Honestly everything was so good and the fact that these all came out from a home bakery is INSANE cause everything tasted better than most baked goods I’ve had from commercial bakeries and the quality was TOP TIER. Jill was also featured on Washingtonian Magazine on a recent article on dc-area bakers! I can’t wait to try her sourdough bread next 😮💨
