Brown Asian Pears with Sweet Cream Cheese & Dark Cherry Compote

Recipe
Poached Pears:
• 2 brown Asian pears, peeled, halved & cored
• 1 cup port wine
• 4 cups apple juice
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 tbsp vanilla bean paste
• 2 tbsp honey
Simmer pears in the liquid until tender (15–20 min), then cool.
Cream Cheese Filling:
• 6 oz cream cheese
• 1/4 cup heavy cream (or more for texture)
• 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 tbsp powdered sugar
• 2–3 tbsp dark cherry compote (folded in)
Blend until smooth, chill slightly, and pipe into the pears.
Finish with:
• A spoonful of extra compote on top
• Candied walnuts for crunch
