... Read moreOne of my favorite things about making cheddar and herb biscuits at home is how customizable and quick the process can be. Using basic ingredients like all-purpose flour, baking powder, and cheddar cheese, you can whip up a batch in under 30 minutes from start to finish. The key is to ensure your butter is cold when mixing it into the flour, which creates that tender, flaky texture in the biscuits. Adding fresh or dried herbs boosts the flavor significantly; I love using rosemary or thyme, but basil or parsley work beautifully as well. When it comes to topping the biscuits, melting butter infused with freshly minced garlic and your preferred herbs adds a wonderful aroma and savory richness right out of the oven. This small extra step takes the biscuits from simple to gourmet. I also find these biscuits are incredibly versatile. They pair wonderfully with soups and stews, or served alongside breakfast with eggs and bacon. You can even turn the leftovers into a quick breakfast sandwich with egg and ham. For larger gatherings, doubling the recipe is easy and ensures everyone gets a warm, cheesy treat. The recipe’s baking time of 14-16 minutes at 425°F really nails the perfect golden color and crispness on the outside while keeping the inside soft and fluffy. Be careful not to overbake to maintain that irresistible texture. Finally, using parchment paper for baking helps with easy cleanup and prevents sticking. Enjoy experimenting with different herb blends and cheeses if you want to mix things up. Sharp cheddar is classic, but smoked or aged cheddars add a unique twist. Overall, these homemade cheddar & herb biscuits are a comforting, easy-to-make delight that I highly recommend trying in your kitchen.
