I lived in Key West working as a nurse on the island. I can not begin to tell you how loving and friendly everyone is. It's open 24 hours a day. The biggest problem now is cruise ships. The island is two miles by four miles, which makes it crowded when a cruise ship is anchored at the dock of Mallory Square. But with all that said, the history, shops, people and weather is worth it. The sunsets are stunning, and it's a place you will never forget. By the way, one of the biggest gay parades that takes place in America is in Key West. It's fabulous.
