What to expect in your 3rd trimester 🤰🏽

These are definitely things I wish I would have known would happen in my third trimester so I knew I had to share with you mamas!

✨Stretch Marks, Baby Dropping & pregnancy nose✨

These are all physical things you may begin to notice with your body especially towards the end. My stretch marks showed up at 36 weeks. I think she dropped at 37 weeks and my pregnancy nose popped out around 38 weeks 👃🏽🥲

✨Frequent urination, back pain, feeling over it &

Hungry AF✨

These are definitely some not so amazing this a lot of women experience. Heavy on the FEELING OVER IT 😅

✨ Growth Scan✨

You’ll have an ultrasound around 36 weeks where they check babies growth and see how much they weigh!

✨ Lightning Crotch, Heartburn & Painful kicks✨

Again, some not so nice symptoms you may experience! Lighting crotch is honestly what it sounds like 😂⚡️ it comes on randomly and is noooot fun but very normal. Heartburn gets worse and also can be effected by what you eat! And the kicks start to happen in places like your ribs and bladder which can be painful.

✨ Baby Shower, Maternity Shoot & Nesting✨

These are some fun things you get to looking forward to! You can even have a nesting party which I’m definitely doing with my next pregnancy!

I did a post on the first & second trimesters too so check that out on my page! Did I miss anything mamas?

... Read moreHey mamas-to-be! As you approach the final stretch of your pregnancy, let me share a bit more about what you might experience, especially concerning those key milestones like baby dropping and the 36-week growth scan. I remember feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension, and having more information truly helped me navigate those last few weeks. One of the most talked-about signs your body is preparing for labor is “baby dropping”, also known as lightening. This usually happens a few weeks before your due date, though it can be earlier or later for first-time moms compared to subsequent pregnancies. For me, it felt like my baby suddenly shifted much lower in my pelvis. You might notice your bump appears lower, often described as your “pregnancy belly dropping.” While it can bring a welcome relief from the pressure on your diaphragm, making breathing a little easier, it often introduces new sensations. Suddenly, there's more pressure on your bladder, leading to even more frequent trips to the bathroom! You might also feel a waddling gait become more pronounced as your baby engages deeper. Don't be surprised if you feel some added pelvic pressure or even a bit of discomfort in your hips and groin area as your body loosens up. It's a natural and important step in getting ready for birth, but it definitely takes some getting used to. Around the 36-week mark, you'll likely have a growth scan, a really important ultrasound to check on your little one. I remember being so eager for this appointment! They'll measure your baby to estimate their weight and ensure they're growing well. This scan also confirms the baby's position – ideally head-down – and checks your amniotic fluid levels. For me, seeing those images and getting an updated estimate of baby's size was incredibly reassuring. It's also a chance for your healthcare provider to discuss any last-minute plans or concerns you might have about labor and delivery. It can also confirm if your baby has dropped or if they're still high, giving you more insight into what to expect in the coming weeks. Beyond these big milestones, the third trimester brings its own set of unique challenges and joys. The article mentioned “Lightning Crotch” – and yes, it's exactly as it sounds! Those sharp, sudden pains in your pelvis can be startling but are usually normal as your baby moves and puts pressure on nerves. Managing heartburn can also become a daily battle; I found eating smaller, more frequent meals and avoiding spicy or acidic foods in the evenings helped a lot. And back pain? Absolutely real! Gentle stretches, a warm bath, or even a pregnancy support belt can offer some relief. When the article mentioned “Feeling over it” and “Hungry AF,” I nodded vigorously! It’s totally normal to feel emotionally and physically drained, but also incredibly hungry as your baby continues to grow. Don't forget to embrace the fun parts too, like your baby shower and maternity shoot, and tapping into that powerful nesting instinct. Whether it’s organizing the nursery or batch-cooking meals, nesting is your body’s way of preparing, and it can be a really fulfilling time despite the discomforts. Remember, you're doing amazing, and the finish line is in sight!
