the events industry is booming

In SG, there are many EMCs (event management companies). And it seems like everyone around me is getting into the events industry. As someone who’s been in this field for a while, I’ll share my thoughts on the rise in popularity in event jobs.

First of all, the glitz and glamour of it. Meeting high profile clients, corporate executives, government officials. Many events, especially corporate ones, allow us to meet these important and influential individuals. It’s really an industry where connections, socializing and networking are the key to success.

Next, putting together a project and seeing the beautiful end result. It’s the feeling of seeing all your hard work for months finally pay off. I also love seeing a project through from start to finish, the satisfaction of everything coming together on event day is just amazing.

My final point would be the fact that no two days are the same in this industry. Always on the move, being on site, going for site recces. It’s definitely the ideal job for someone like me who can’t stand still. Everyday is different and there will always be new projects and new clients coming in.

Overall, it’s a great industry with many learning opportunities and I love this line of work. These are just some reasons why events are gaining so much attention.

BUT there are always two sides of a coin. Since i’ve spent so much time hyping it up, I’ll talk about the downfall of the events industry in my next post.

The corporate events industry is particularly vibrant, with businesses constantly seeking innovative ways to engage clients and employees through memorable experiences. This has fueled demand for skilled event professionals familiar with the niche requirements of business events. In my experience, success in this market relies heavily on adaptability and networking. Each corporate event presents its own unique challenges—from logistics to client expectations—which keeps the work stimulating and educative. The events industry market is evolving rapidly with technological integration, like virtual events and hybrid models, expanding opportunities for creative solutions. If you're considering a career in this field, understanding the business events industry's landscape is crucial.
