My 4 year glow up✨💄

When I first started doing makeup, I had watched lots of tutorials but lacked the experience😭

I think I had a good understanding of what each product does but didn’t know how to optimize each one for my face.

Learning about my face shape, skin tone, skin texture took YEARS but I finally nailed down what works for me😍

Occasionally I will spice up my everyday makeup by using a different lipstick colour, or putting on mascara (which I don’t usually do).

At the time of each photo, I always thought that was the best look for me, but as I tried new techniques I discovered more styles and stuck with what I liked.

For now, I’m pretty content with my makeup and it’s quite crazy to see my style evolve over the years.

Comment if you’re curious about anything on my makeup routine!

At first, I relied heavily on popular tutorials but quickly realized that understanding my unique face shape and skin undertones was key to achieving a flattering look. For instance, learning to adjust eyeliner to follow my eye shape instead of copying winged eyeliner styles blindly helped my eyes look more natural and awake. Another game changer was discovering the power of concealer—not just for covering blemishes but for brightening and lifting the eye area. Early on, I didn't use blush or lipstick regularly, but experimenting with these added color products gradually brought life and warmth to my complexion. I found that subtle blush combined with a signature lipstick shade gave me confidence and a polished finish. The evolution of my brows was also significant. Moving from thick, harshly angled brows to softer, straighter shapes complemented my growing makeup knowledge and face structure. Adding a delicate nose contour and some eyeshadow like a soft brown not only defined my features but added a dimension I hadn’t achieved before. If you're starting out or feeling stuck, my advice is to be patient and approach makeup as a form of self-expression rather than perfection. Don't hesitate to switch up products like mascara, lipstick colors, or eyeliner styles to discover what you enjoy and what highlights your personality. Your makeup routine will evolve as you do, and that’s a beautiful part of the process. Feel free to reach out with questions about techniques or product recommendations—sharing experiences is part of the fun in this community!

💌 To the Me of Four Years Ago
Thank you for the discomfort. That small seed of dissatisfaction became the courage to start. You didn't just change; you gained self-respect and discovered a resilience you didn't know you had. Don't stop. You are capable of this continued transformation. ❤️ #selflovejourne
