We paid for the couples rental, without photographer. We didn’t go for the photoshoot because we just wanted to take it easy and take our own pics, shop and walk around!
If you’re wondering what camera I’m using here, check out my other post on the digicam I brought to Japan!! 📸
Also, the most important thing to note was to return the outfits by 5pm! Otherwise there would be charges for late-returns. And obviously keep the clothes clean!
They have both English and Chinese-speaking staff which was great too! ✨
The staff were really helpful, answered our questions and helped us put on the kimonos
We got to choose the colours and designs ourselves too, but you can always ask the staff for suggestions😁
10/10 experience and 100% would do it again🥰

... Read moreRenting a kimono in Osaka is truly a unique way to immerse yourself in Japanese culture and take home unforgettable memories. Beyond just wearing a traditional outfit, the experience often includes expert assistance from staff who help with dressing, ensuring that the kimono looks perfect and feels comfortable throughout your outing. When choosing your kimono, take your time to browse different color combinations and patterns, as this personalizes your look and enhances your photo opportunities.
A common question for first-timers is what to wear underneath the kimono. Typically, a white underlayer is worn, which complements the outer kimono and accessories. For accessories, selecting flower hairpieces and a matching handbag can elevate the overall aesthetic, making your outfit even more charming.
Many rental shops, including OukaKimono in Osaka, offer multilingual support with English and Chinese-speaking staff, making communication seamless for international visitors. This helps alleviate any worries about the rental process and styling.
One important tip is to plan your rental time wisely—returning the kimono before the 5pm deadline avoids extra charges and ensures a stress-free experience. Also, take care to keep the outfit clean during your outing to maintain its pristine condition.
If you enjoy photography, bringing your own camera or digicam allows you to capture spontaneous moments and scenic walks around Osaka. Feel free to explore nearby cultural sites and streets while wearing the kimono, as it adds a layer of authenticity and joy to your sightseeing.
Overall, renting a kimono in Osaka is highly recommended, not only for the aesthetic appeal but for the cultural immersion and wonderful memories you create. It's a fantastic way to connect with Japan's rich traditions while enjoying modern city vibes.
