If you’ve seen my previous posts about my hair journey, you’ll know I’ve had black hair for YEARS now 😀
But I decided to change it up. After all, new job = new hair, amirite?
Once again, we are at Picasso Hair Studio for some corporate-approved hair makeover✨
I suggested to my stylist, Brandon, that I wanted some kind of hidden underlights, and he suggested to go with a subtle red.
The red is hidden by the rest of my hair as we did just a small portion in the back and on the sides. It’s also not obvious in office lighting which is perfect for staying lowkey🌚
But out in the sun, the colour is so so pretty 😍 and I really like how well it blends with my natural hair colour!!!
Service was so good as usual, and with the snacks they gave me, I was so spoilt for choice I ate almost everything😅
So like, I’m definitely not finding excuses to go do my hair… but I gotta get a good start to a new chapter in life.
Highly recommend Picasso Hair Studio if you’re looking to get your hair done, they’re literally 10/10 all the time🔥

From my own experience, opting for hidden underlights in a subtle red was perfect because it allowed me to keep a professional appearance while still expressing my personality.
One of the best parts about hidden underlights is that they are cleverly placed beneath the top layers of hair, usually at the back or sides, so they remain discreet in lower, indoor or office lighting. This means you can keep your hair within corporate guidelines yet have a fun, colorful surprise when you step outside into natural sunlight. The contrast between the hidden red hues and my natural dark brown hair created a warm, blended effect that looked chic and sophisticated.
Choosing the right salon is essential for a look like this. I highly recommend going to a trusted studio with stylists who understand professional needs and can customize the coloring to suit your natural tones and daily environments. The experience at Picasso Hair Studio was wonderful — not just because of the quality of the hair coloring, but also the attentive service and small comforts that made the visit enjoyable.
For those considering a similar style, it’s important to communicate clearly with your stylist about how bold or subtle you want the color and where you want it placed. This ensures the color works well with your hair’s texture and your workplace regulations.
Finally, maintaining colored hair requires proper care; using sulfate-free shampoos and conditioning treatments can help preserve the vibrancy of the underlights longer. Incorporating this hairstyle into your professional wardrobe can inspire creativity and confidence, making your big girl day job a little brighter and more personal.
Overall, subtle red hidden underlights are a fantastic hair inspiration for women balancing style and professional expectations. It’s a fun way to celebrate new beginnings without compromising on office-appropriate aesthetics.
