Hey everyone! I’m so excited to share more about the journey I’ve been on with my 2009 Toyota Corolla S. When I first got her, she was a pretty standard ride, but I had a vision to make her truly my own – a head-turning, custom build that embraces that 'riced out' aesthetic in a way I love. It’s been a labor of love, and I've learned so much along the way. One of the first things I wanted to tackle was the stance. I decided to go with D2 Racing Springs to lower the car. It wasn't just about the look; I wanted a more aggressive feel on the road. The installation was a bit of an adventure, but seeing the car sit lower with those black multi-spoke wheels instantly transformed its profile. It really gave it that sporty, custom look I was after, making it stand out from typical Corollas. Next up, I focused on the front end. I absolutely love the look of the 2011 facelift, so that was a must-do. Swapping out the original headlights for VLAND headlights completely modernized the face of the car. Paired with a 2011 front bumper and an added front lip, it really gave the car a much more aggressive and contemporary feel. It’s amazing what a difference a few key upgrades can make to the overall aesthetic. And of course, getting the windows tinted added to that sleek, polished appearance. Moving to the back, I knew a Mugen spoiler was the perfect touch to complete the sporty look. It’s subtle enough not to be over-the-top but adds just the right amount of flair. I also decided to tint the taillights, which, combined with the spoiler, really ties the rear end together. And for that extra bit of character, I opted for a muffler delete. The exhaust tip now has a much more satisfying growl, which I absolutely love – it gives the car a voice that matches its new attitude. For anyone thinking about modifying their own 2009 Corolla, or any car for that matter, my biggest advice is to do your research! Look at different parts, watch installation videos, and don't be afraid to ask for help or advice from others in the car community. Deciding on D2 Racing Springs or those specific VLAND headlights took time, but it was worth it to get exactly the look and feel I wanted. Whether you’re aiming for a subtle enhancement or a full-blown 'riced out' transformation like mine, planning is key. It’s incredibly rewarding to see your vision come to life, piece by piece. My Corolla now feels like an extension of my personality, and I couldn't be happier with how she turned out!
