My stats after quitting corporate in my mid 20s 💻
Here’s to 2️⃣ years of choosing purpose, joy and finally experiencing a 2hr lunch break 😂❤️
Leaving the corporate world in your mid 20s can feel like stepping into the unknown, but it can also be incredibly rewarding. When I made the decision to quit, I didn’t have a clear plan, just a need to realign my life with what truly mattered to me. Over the past two years, I’ve experienced significant improvements in many areas—not just career-wise but also physically and mentally. One of the most noticeable changes has been in my health. Previously, my corporate job trapped me at my desk from early morning until late at night, leading to stress and unhealthy habits like reaching for sugary snacks and skipping sleep. Now, I’m training four times a week, prioritizing sleep, eating healthier, and taking daily walks. These small but consistent changes helped me shed 6 kg and feel energised every day. Travel is another area where my lifestyle has evolved dramatically. In the corporate world, I used to hesitate to use my annual leave, always convincing myself to save it for a "better time" that never arrived. Since quitting, I’ve traveled 37 days in a year, including some travel for work—something I once thought was impossible without guilt. Taking regular breaks helps me reset, recharge, and gain fresh inspiration for my projects. Learning to embrace uncertainty was a major mindset shift. I used to think my future security depended on a job offer letter, but now I’ve realized that no job can guarantee certainty. Trusting myself to adapt and create opportunities has been empowering. It’s taught me to appreciate sustainable work rather than constant hustle and external validation. One practical lifestyle change I cherish is having longer lunch breaks. Previously squeezing lunch into 40 minutes seemed necessary because everything felt urgent. Now, I enjoy 2-hour lunch breaks at least once a week, often dining with friends or my partner, making it a social and joyful experience I look forward to. Ultimately, redefining success for me means waking up excited to work on projects I love, taking care of my health, spending quality time with loved ones, and building a life aligned with my values. Quitting corporate wasn’t just about leaving a job—it was about reclaiming my time, health, and purpose. For anyone considering a similar path, remember that growth takes time, but choosing joy and purpose at your own pace is worth it.
