It's incredible to look back and realize it's been 17 years since we first became high school sweethearts. So many people ask us, 'How do you keep the passion alive after all this time?' And honestly, it's a journey, not a destination! It's not always about grand gestures; sometimes it's the little things that truly matter, making even a simple selfie feel full of love and connection. One of the biggest lessons we've learned is the importance of continuous, open communication. We make sure to check in with each other regularly, not just about mundane practicalities, but about our deepest dreams, unspoken fears, and even the small joys and frustrations of the day. It’s about truly listening without judgment and being fully present when the other person is sharing. For instance, my partner, even after all these years, still knows exactly how to make me laugh and feel completely seen, whether it’s through a silly inside joke or just a comforting, understanding hug at the end of a tough day. Another critical element is making time for shared experiences. Life can get incredibly busy, pulling us in different directions, but we always try to carve out dedicated time for 'us.'
