Boycott brands apart of #project2025

I know many of us are trying to be more mindful about where we spend our money, and lately, I've been really focusing on researching which brands deserve our support – and which ones might be worth boycotting. It's not always easy to find clear information, but I've been piecing things together. From what I've gathered, one of the biggest reasons for a boycott making waves right now involves companies that have reportedly donated to or are associated with 'Project 2025.' When I first saw a list circulating, it really caught my attention. It’s hard to ignore when you see big names like Walmart, McDonald's, and TJ Maxx appearing on what looks like a handwritten list of donors, as I noted in some of my research. The idea is that by supporting such initiatives, these companies might be enabling policies or directions that many of us disagree with ethically or socially. For me, it's about aligning my spending with my values, and if a company is contributing to something I find problematic, I want to know so I can make a different choice. Beyond just Project 2025, another huge concern that's been on my mind (and something the original post touched on) is the use of AI. It's fantastic how technology can advance, but when brands start using AI to replace human employees or artists without fair compensation, it feels like a step backward for creativity and livelihoods. We've seen so many talented people in various industries struggle because companies are opting for cheaper, automated solutions. As consumers, we have a voice, and choosing to boycott brands that exploit AI in this way sends a powerful message. We want to see companies investing in people, not just profits, and using AI responsibly and ethically. It's crucial to empower ourselves with knowledge. Before making a purchase, I try to do a quick search to see if the brand has any controversies or is linked to practices I don't support. There are several online resources and communities dedicated to tracking these kinds of things, and it's amazing how much information you can find if you just look. If you've come across any other brands that you think should be on a boycott list for similar reasons – whether for their ties to Project 2025, their use of AI, or any other ethical concerns – please share! The more we talk about this and share our findings, the stronger our collective impact will be. Let's keep the conversation going and make our purchasing power count for a more ethical world.
