If your dough doesn't get enough time to proof after shaping, you might end up with dense, heavy bunnies instead of those airy, perfect ones. Temperature and humidity play a huge role, too. A warm, draft-free spot is your best friend for a good rise. Sometimes, just covering your shaped bunnies loosely with plastic wrap and letting them sit a bit longer can make all the difference. For shaping, if your bunnies turn out a bit 'chunky,' maybe try a simpler design next time or practice with a plain dough first. There are so many creative ways to shape bunny bread, from simple rolled ears to more intricate braided designs. The key is to handle the dough gently after the first rise to preserve that airy structure. If you're using a milk bread recipe, the dough can be quite soft, so a little flour on your hands and surface helps. Speaking of Easter bread, have you ever heard of Greek Easter bunny bread, or Tsoureki? Imagine a fragrant, slightly sweet bread, given the traditional bunny form – it would be delightful! A good Tsoureki recipe often calls for multiple rises to achieve its characteristic soft and fluffy texture.
