Learning to love my natural features

🦋it’s no secret I have small lips, but I’ve always hated them, but it’s time to accept the fact they’re not going anywhere and I’ve got to start being more kind to myself.

🌺 So instead of always complaining about them I’ve decided to love and decorate them! Try new lipstick! Experiment with liners! Who cares that they’re small? I don’t need filler to be happy ( if you choose to get filler yay!!! Do what makes you happiest frien, no judgment here)

☘️Here’s to loving ourselves in all our forms 🫶🏼

It's truly been a joy to realize that makeup isn't about hiding or changing ourselves, but about celebrating and enhancing what we've already got! That's why I wanted to dive a little deeper into how I achieve my 'Natural girlie' look and some general lip makeup hacks that anyone can try. First off, let's talk about the magic of lip liner – it's not just for defining! For those of us with smaller lips, or anyone who wants a bit more shape, liner is your secret weapon. I usually pick a shade that's very close to my natural lip color or my chosen lipstick. I start by lining just on the very edge of my natural lip line, sometimes going barely outside in the center of my top and bottom lips to create a subtle illusion of fullness. The key is subtlety; we're enhancing, not overhauling! Then, I gently fill in my entire lip with the liner. This creates a perfect base for lipstick, helping it last longer and preventing it from bleeding. Next up is finding your perfect lipstick shade. While my original post focused on my new lip combo, it's worth exploring different finishes too. A matte lipstick can give a really sophisticated, defined look, while a satin or creamy formula can feel more hydrating and give a softer appearance. Glosses, especially clear or slightly tinted ones, are fantastic for adding a plump, juicy look to any lip shape without feeling heavy. Don't be afraid to experiment! What looks good on a beauty guru might not be your perfect shade, and that's totally okay. It's about what makes you feel confident. Beyond the makeup itself, good lip care is absolutely essential for a flawless application and healthy pouts. I make sure to gently exfoliate my lips once or twice a week to get rid of any dry flakes. You can use a dedicated lip scrub or even just a soft toothbrush with a little sugar and honey! After exfoliating, a nourishing lip balm is a must. Hydrated lips not only look better but also make your lipstick glide on smoothly and wear more comfortably throughout the day. Remember, the goal isn't to chase unrealistic beauty standards, but to find joy in expressing yourself. Whether you have full lips, small lips, or anything in between, every lip shape is beautiful and deserves to be celebrated. Playing with different 'lip combos' and techniques has become a fun part of my selfcare routine, and it's amazing how much a simple swipe of lipstick can boost my mood and confidence. So go ahead, experiment, and find what makes you feel like the most authentic and beautiful version of your natural girlie self!
