Nacho average sausage! Made with jalapeño and cheddar, this smoked sausage pairs perfectly with cheesy chips!

Spicy Smoked Sausage Nachos -

Ingredients:

Cheese Sauce-

16oz velveeta, cut into cubes

10oz can rotel tomatoes

Pico de Gallo-

3 Roma tomatoes, diced

1/2 medium onion, diced

1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced

1/2 cup cilantro, chopped

2 tbsp lime juice

Salt & pepper to taste

Nachos-

Tortilla chips

Cheese sauce, from above

Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage, sliced and pan fried

Pico de Gallo, from above

Sour cream

Fresh jalapeño, sliced

Instructions:

Cheese Sauce-

Combine velveeta and tomatoes in saucepan over medium heat

Heat and stir until melted

Pico de Gallo-

Combine all ingredients

Refrigerate until ready to use

Nachos-

Layer tortilla chips, cheese sauce, Sausage and Pico de Gallo

Top with sour cream and sliced jalapeño

To prepare ground sausage nachos, I simply brown the ground sausage in a skillet, breaking it up as it cooks, then drain any excess fat before adding it to my nacho layers. It gives a wonderfully crumbly, flavorful bite that's just as satisfying. And speaking of pork, using different cuts or preparations for pork sausage nachos can really change the game. Sometimes I'll use a pre-cooked spicy chorizo, slicing it thin and pan-frying it until crispy. The key is to make sure your sausage is fully cooked and nicely browned, regardless of the type.
