Book recs for spring🌸🤍
Hey fellow bookworms! Spring is finally here, and with it comes the perfect excuse to dive into some amazing new reads. I don't know about you, but there's just something about the warmer weather and longer days that makes me crave a good book, especially for spring break! When I'm picking out my spring reads, I usually look for something that feels fresh, engaging, and maybe a little bit escapist. Whether I'm planning a getaway or just enjoying some quiet time at home, I want books that transport me. Lately, I've been really into fantasy romance, and if you are too, you absolutely have to check out Carissa Broadbent's work. Her Crowns of Nyaxia series, starting with The Serpent and the Wings of Night (which I believe is Book I of the Nightborn Due – what a title!), is high on my list. The world-building sounds incredible, and the romance is supposed to be epic. It's the kind of story that promises to keep you hooked, perfect for those long spring afternoons. I also spotted mention of Emily Rath in my recent book browsing, and her romance novels are known for being fun and steamy – definitely a vibe for spring! Beyond epic fantasies, I also love to mix in some contemporary romance or even a thrilling mystery. Spring often feels like a time for new beginnings, so stories about characters finding themselves or embarking on new adventures really resonate with me. When choosing your own 'good spring reads,' think about what kind of mood you're in. Do you want something light and uplifting to read by the pool? A gripping page-turner for a road trip? Or maybe a cozy mystery for a rainy spring day? Here are a few tips I use to find my perfect spring reads: Look for 'new adult' or 'young adult' fantasy/romance: Often these genres have that perfect blend of exciting plot and compelling relationships. Check out themed lists: Many bookstores and online communities put out "spring reads" lists – these are goldmines! Don't be afraid to reread a comfort book: Sometimes, a familiar story is exactly what you need to relax and unwind. Consider the setting: Books set in beautiful, warm locations can really enhance that spring break feeling, even if you're just reading from your couch! I'm trying to branch out my reading locations this spring, too. Imagine reading a fantastic novel like The Serpent and the Wings of Night while sitting outside at a cafe, or curled up in a hammock. The possibilities are endless! Ultimately, 'good spring reads' are whatever makes you happy and helps you escape for a little while. Happy reading, everyone!
