... Read moreOMG, you guys, you won't believe it! We just had our first proper snow day in FOUR YEARS, and it was absolutely magical. The minute I saw those beautiful pine tree branches heavily covered in fresh snow outside my window, I knew it was going to be an epic day. Forget just staying inside; we were ready to make some memories. Of course, no snow day is complete without a snowman, right? But I didn't want just any snowman. Inspired by all the cool vibes lately, we decided to create 'Frostina the baddie'! Seriously, she's not your average frosty friend. We gave her the cutest carrot nose, stick arms that looked ready to strike a pose, and button eyes and a mouth that just screamed confidence. It was so much fun finding just the right accessories to make her stand out. If you're thinking of building your own 'baddie snowman,' don't be afraid to get creative with props – maybe some cool sunglasses or a tiny scarf! It’s all about giving them personality. After our masterpiece was complete, we decided to get adventurous. My black dog on a leash was absolutely loving the snow, and we even tried something totally unique: kayak sledding! Yes, you read that right. Imagine pulling a blue kayak down a snowy forest path – it was such a laugh, and surprisingly effective for gliding through the powder. It just goes to show, you can make an adventure out of anything on a snow day! When the chill finally started to set in, it was time for some serious cozy recovery. What better way to warm up than with steaming hot chocolate? We made a huge batch and then dove into some baking. I pulled out my recipe for homemade chocolate chocolate chip sourdough bread. It’s a bit of a project, but seeing that rustic crust and all those visible chocolate chips – even if it’s 'not perfect but yummy' – makes it so worth it. There’s nothing quite like the smell of fresh-baked bread filling the house on a snowy evening. So, if you're lucky enough to have a snow day soon, I totally recommend embracing all the joy it brings. Build a 'baddie snowman,' try a silly new outdoor activity like kayak sledding, and definitely treat yourself to some warm drinks and delicious homemade goodies. It’s these little moments that make winter so special. Stay warm and enjoy the magic!
