🇸🇬50 year old Fish Soup in SG🇸🇬
Always a joy to meet the friendly 2nd generation owner, Ms. Alice Chew from @goldenmilefishsoup whenever I visit to satisfy my cravings for their signature fish soup. The stall is setup since 1975 and has served their Signature fish soup for more than 50 years!
Their broth is cooked from scratch for hours using ingredients such as pork bones and fish bones really bursts with flavours with every mouth. I always like to add milk for even greater satisfaction though the broth is already good on its own.
Fish slices are fresh and of good quality. We always get their limited yam rice to pair with their fish soup which is deliciously packed with generous cubes of yam & pumpkin, dried shrimps, mushrooms, cabbages and fried shallots. Homemade chilli is also on point and so shiok!
Recommend you to request fried fish to be served separately if you prefer it more crispy. Yummy and satisfying. You have to try this yourself💯 Really 真材实料.

Visiting Golden Mile Fish Porridge & Seafood Soup is like stepping into a treasured slice of Singapore’s hawker heritage. What makes their fish soup truly special is the painstaking process behind the broth, which is simmered for hours using pork and fish bones to develop rich, complex flavors. Adding milk to the broth is a popular tip among regulars, enhancing the creaminess and depth of taste without overpowering the natural flavors. The fresh fish slices here are key to the dish’s appeal, offering a tender bite that complements the hearty soup base. Pairing the fish soup with their limited-edition yam rice elevates the experience: the yam rice is packed with generous cubes of yam and pumpkin, dried shrimps, mushrooms, and cabbage, topped with crispy fried shallots that add texture and aroma. An often-overlooked highlight is the homemade chili—its balance of heat and tang perfectly cuts through the richness of the soup, lending a satisfying kick. For those who appreciate crispy textures, requesting the fried fish served separately ensures each piece retains its crunch, providing a delightful contrast to the smooth soup. Located at stall #B1-40 in Golden Mile Food Centre, this family-run business has won multiple awards and remains a must-try for food lovers seeking authentic flavors crafted with care over decades. It’s also great to know that they accept CDC vouchers, supporting both local food culture and community initiatives. In my visits, the warm hospitality from the 2nd generation owner, Ms. Alice Chew, adds a welcoming touch that makes every meal memorable. Whether you’re craving a comforting bowl of fish soup or curious about traditional hawker delights like the bitter gourd seafood soup, Golden Mile Food Centre offers an array of options rooted in genuine ingredients and time-honored recipes. Give it a try to truly taste a heritage that’s been lovingly preserved since 1975.
