REMAKE ✨ T-SHIRT BAG ✨ Tricks
[Materials]
1 T-shirt to be remade
String for handle: Two thick ropes (ivory or ivory) approx. 1.5m x 2. Alternatively, fabric tape or leather handle of your choice.
Sewing tools:
Sewing machine (or needle and thread)
Clear scissors
PIN OR CLIP FOR HANDCRAFT
Chaco Pen and Cloth Markers
(Optional) Cloth for lining: A cloth of the same size as the T-shirt. It makes the bag strong.
[Procedure of how to make]
1. T-shirt cutting (cutting)
Spread the t-shirt on a flat surface.
Carefully cut the inside of the neckline and cuff seams (body side) with scissors.
Point: This will be the opening of the bag.
The hem of the hem can be used as it is, so leave it.
With this, you will be in the state of a "cloth tube" without sleeves, with openings and hem.
2. Sew the bottom of the bag
Turn the T-shirt inside out.
Align the cut opening (the part that was originally a collar or sleeve) flat with a pin or clip.
Point: Make the side with the print inside.
Sew about 1 cm inside from the combined edge in a straight line with a sewing machine (or hand sewing).
Point: If you want strength, sew twice or reverse stitch.
After sewing, turn it over. This completes the "bag" part of the bag.
3. Attach the handle
This is the fun part of the arrangement. There are two ways.
Method A: Sew the rope directly (style as shown in the picture)
The original hem of the T-shirt will be the top of the bag (the opening).
Prepare two ropes and make each one into a circle.
Align the ends of the rope to the top of the bag, inside or outside.
With a strong thread, sew firmly as if drawing a square or cross mark.
Points: If the rope is thick, please fix it tightly by hand sewing.
Method B: Tie through rope (more casual style)
On the top of the bag (the hem of the original hem), make 4 small cuts at equal intervals on the part facing the inside.
Thread the rope through that cut.
Pull the rope outward and tie a thick knot to secure it.
Point: If the knot comes off easily, sew a few stitches from the back to fix it.
私がTシャツバッグを作ってみて「ここを押さえると失敗しにくい！」と感じたコツをまとめます。特にライブTシャツをリメイクする時は、プリントをきれいに見せたいので、裁断前に完成イメージを決めるのがおすすめです。 まずTシャツ選び。生地が薄すぎると伸びて型崩れしやすいので、できれば少ししっかりめの綿Tが安心でした。白Tに花柄や“Calliforenia”みたいなロゴが入っているデザインだと、バッグにした時もそのまま主役になってかわいいです。プリント面を「内側にして縫う」と書いてある場合でも、完成後に表に返せばプリントが外側に出るので、縫う前はとにかく“中表（表同士を合わせる）”を意識すると混乱しません。 底を縫う時の裏ワザは、直線縫いのあとに“ジグザグ縫い”か“端を折ってもう一度縫う”こと。Tシャツ生地はほつれにくいとはいえ、重い物を入れると縫い目に負荷が集中します。私は返し縫い＋もう1本平行に縫って二重にしたら、かなり安心感が出ました。さらに丈夫にしたいなら、家にある布で簡単な裏地を付けるのも◎。裏地を付けると伸びにくくなって、ペットボトルを入れても形がきれいでした。 マチを作りたい場合は、底の両端を三角に折って（縫い目を中心に潰すイメージ）、5〜8cmくらいのところを横に縫うと、簡単に角マチができます。コンビニのお弁当やタオルも入れやすくなりました。 持ち手のロープは太めが見た目もおしゃれで、手に食い込みにくいです。縫い付ける方法なら、四角＋バツ（ボックスステッチ）にすると取れにくいです。通して結ぶ方法はカジュアルでかわいい反面、切れ目が広がりやすいので、切れ目の周りだけ小さく補強縫いをしておくと安心でした。 最後に、ライブTシャツをリメイクする時の注意点。思い出のTシャツほど失敗したくないので、最初は似た厚みの不要Tで練習→本番にすると気持ちがラクでした。完成したら、普段使いはもちろん、サブバッグやジム用にも便利で、使うたびに思い出がよみがえります。
