Dermatologist/ laser / micro needle works?
curious if laser and micro needling works? TLDR: YES
allow me to share with u on my acne recovering journey!
I always had pimple since i was a teen, but it worsened after i tried self apply creams that i saw from youtube 😭
My acne became way worse and spread across my face within one month and it affected my confidence. I decided that to visit a dermatologist and that was the best decision i made 🙌
I was prescribed oratane 10mg where i had to take a number of test eg. full blood count and thyroid function test every few months to make sure that my liver is functioning well with the intake of oratane.
The oratane provided amazing results but i realised that my skin was thinner, even my lips were cracking damn badly. i had to use lip balm and body moisturiser which i never previously used.
After a year of using oratane, there were no more new pimples growing and most of my acne went away. However, i wanted to remove the scar being left behind and that’s when my derm suggested pico laser and micro needling.
Pain level:
Micro needling hurt the most i felt that it went through my scar and almost touch my bones 🩻
Pico laser was pain but manageable tbh.
Results: micro needling vs pico laser
i did pico laser twice and micro needling only once as i felt that pico laser delivered better results for me. But both will leave dark scars for two days after the session so its better u WFH after and don’t have much exposure to the sun.
Although not all of my scars are gone as i have deep scars on places like my forehead, i am super happy with my results. Currently i am restarting my cycle of taking oratane as some breakout is happening so i wanted to keep it under control. And please use sunblock!!
My dermatologist is definitely ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Doctor is super friendly and nice, don’t push products and only recommend the best and staff there are super nice.
